A Good Day to Get Married: Rethinking Sunday Weddings, and The Price That Comes With It

Most wedding venues run two prices, peak and off-peak. Some don't even do that, charging one rate all year. We price every date on its own. Yes, sometimes dates end up at the same price. That just happens when they have similar value.

A Saturday in September is not worth the same as a Saturday in late April. Most venues split the year into peak and off-peak, and give every Saturday one of two rates. Sundays get the same treatment just done at a lower tier. The problem is this misses what actually moves a date's value: the weather, a nearby holiday, how many couples want that exact weekend. Hotels and airlines know how to adjust their prices to match the value for those differences. They have done it for decades. We've hosted weddings since 2015, and the data is clear enough: value moves from one Saturday to the next, one Friday to the next, and one Sunday to the next. The same is even true for some Thursdays. The price should move with it.

Secret Sunday is a great example of how we price. Not every Sunday draws the same demand, so the quieter ones have the chance to become a Secret Sunday.  What is a Secret Sunday at Legacy Hill Farm? It's one Sunday on our live calendar listed well under our standard rate. When that Sunday books, another takes its place. Nothing about the day is downgraded. A couple open to the specific live Secret Sunday just pays less for it.

The funny thing is the date is only a secret if you just believe that all Sundays are the same price. If you click through the live booking calendar, you will see all our dates each priced on its own.  And if you click through all the Sundays, you are sure to find where the secret is. You’ll also notice that each day of week, not just Sundays, have varying rates based on their value.

Most venues struggle to sell Sundays. Look at their open calendars and the Sundays are often what's left. The reflex is to price a Sunday like a cheaper Friday and leave it open, which looks like a high-end stance and quietly keeps the date empty. We have decided to go the other way.  We think Sundays are a great day to get married, it's just that most venues don’t price them that way. We price a Sunday low enough that choosing one becomes a smart move, not a compromise. In 2026, our Sundays sold out. The value of a Sunday wedding has always been there, but the price just had to reflect it so that someone could act on it.

Dynamic pricing runs both directions, and that's the point. A couple set on a specific October Saturday can have it, and they'll pay what that date is worth to everyone else who wants it. A couple open to a quieter date gets rewarded for the openness. The date goes to whoever values it most, whether they measure that in the date itself or in the price.

Secret Sunday is not a discount given to a date that nobody wants. We're pointing at an opportunity and letting the couple who spots it take it. Pricing each date to value opens the door on both ends. More couples get married here, not fewer.

Some couples fall for Legacy Hill Farm, run the numbers on a full-price hot date, and quietly count themselves out. We'd rather find them a way in, and we know there are dates that could be a good fit for them and a win for us. Years ago, Sundays at Legacy would hardly sell.  We’d have an open beautiful day that someone could have gotten married on, but instead no wedding happened. We love when couples get married here, and we knew we could serve more couples if we tried something new. It worked. Couples are getting married on Sundays, and Legacy Hill Farm is full of life and love on days now that it didn’t used to be.

At Legacy Hill Farm, every date carries one public price, posted in real time, identical for everyone who looks. The date’s price is the date’s price. No quotes, no back and forth.

So, watch the calendar. Secret Sunday isn't hidden, exactly. Most people just aren't looking. The couple who is, books a wedding at Legacy Hill Farm for noticeably less, and gets the quiet satisfaction of having found it. And, when you are looking for that Secret Sunday, you might just find another date that to you is priced perfectly to value and is actually the one for you. It's up to you which one you chose to be your wedding date :)
