Legacy Hill Farm is committed to sustainability.

Legacy Hill Farm is an eco-friendly wedding and event venue. We are committed to planting enough trees to offset the estimated carbon footprint of the venue energy usage for every wedding we host. We are proud to be a carbon-offset venue through One Tree Planted. We believe all the efforts we make together to take care of our earth and environment matter. We partner with One Tree Planted to plant 10 trees for each Legacy Couple.

We are committed to planting enough trees to offset the estimated carbon footprint of the venue energy usage for every wedding hosted at Legacy Hill Farm. To do so, we partner with One Tree Planted, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, dedicated to global reforestation.

Why Trees?
Tree planting offsets carbon emissions by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere and storing it in its trunk, branches, leaves, and roots. A mature tree absorbs about 48 lbs of CO2 per year and over its lifetime (~40 years), a tree can store around 1 metric ton of CO2!

Our Solution
Based on the lifetime sequestration of an average tree (1 tree absorbs about 1 metric ton of CO2 over its lifetime) and the estimated venue energy use per wedding (10 metric tons CO2), we donate 10 trees to be planted for every wedding hosted at Legacy Hill Farm to offset the footprint.

Our Commitment
As more accurate data becomes available, we will refine our calculations and adjust the number of trees planted to offset the estimated carbon footprint of venue energy usage for each wedding at Legacy Hill Farm. Sustainability is a priority to us. We are committed to innovation and may evolve our sustainability efforts as better strategies and targets emerge. No matter what, we will always keep you informed about our current goals and solutions as we work toward a sustainable future.

How You Can Partner With Us to Host a Sustainable Wedding or Event

  • Avoid the use of straws, paper napkins, or plastic cutlery.

  • Use Apples 2 Apples catering — our local, organic and farm-to-table catering partner.

  • Ensure that all materials used by your florist are reusable or compostable.

  • Recycle all applicable materials on-site, per our requirements.

  • Avoid single-use plastic. Choose reusable or compostable options for dishware and glassware.

  • Avoid printed programs.

  • Opt for a menu sign in lieu of printed menus.

  • Rent your decor, like the furniture & table decor offered at Hello Wildflower.
