hosting an eco-friendly wedding or event matters.

We’ll even dumpster dive to help you accomplish it.

Sustainability is at the core of Legacy Hill Farm.

We’re taking care of guests and the planet, one event at a time.

Dumpster Diving To Make It Right

Legacy Hill Farm is a wedding venue that recycles.

In fact, we’ve been known to dumpster dive to save whatever we can recycle from going to a landfill.

Recycling is one of our love languages.

We’ve recycled over 1,027+ tons of waste from weddings and events. (That’s a whopping 2,054,000 pounds of waste that we’ve saved from landfills).

And we’re still passionately sorting and recycling as much as we can.

Our eyes are open and we are constantly searching for that one more bottle, one more can, one more cardboard box… that we can save and recycle.

At Legacy Hill Farm we make it easy for couples to know that their event is being hosted with sustainability.

Throughout our venue recycle receptacles are easy for guests to find. We also have a large recycle bin available on site for weddings and events to use.

We don’t want to send recycling and waste home with our couples, guests, or their wedding vendors. Instead, we want it to feel easy for them to recycle at Legacy Hill Farm.

At Legacy Hill Farm words like “sustainability”, “eco-friendly”, and “eco-elegance” are not just feel good buzzwords.

These values instead are core to who we are and they’ve required us to roll up our sleeves and get dirty (like when we dumpster dive) to make it right.

Sustainability has been a part of our identity from the start and it is continuing to drive what we do into the future.

Certified Carbon-Offset Venue

Legacy Hill Farm is an eco-friendly wedding venue committed to sustainability. We are proud to be a certified carbon-offset venue through One Tree Planted.

Through our annual investments with One Tree Planted, we have a certified estimate of capturing 50 Tonnes of CO2 to compensate for the emissions impact of the size of our company based on our full-time equivalent employees.

We’re thrilled to be certified as a carbon-offset wedding and event venue!

1 Marriage = 1 Tree

In addition to being a certified carbon-offset venue, we donate one tree for every couple that gets married at Legacy Hill Farm.

476 trees have been donated as of this moment…

And we’re not done!

The number of tree donations will continue to grow with each couple that gets married at our venue.

When you get married at Legacy Hill Farm a tree will be planted in your honor.

The trees we donate support wildfire forest restoration, promote freshwater and soil biodiversity, and reforest areas where trees have died from disease.

When you get married at Legacy Hill Farm your planted tree will create a positive impact on the world for generations to come.

Eco-Friendly Venue Practices

In addition to all of the above, our venue also builds sustainability into our daily practices.

As a digital venue we print as little as possible. Our real-time online booking calendar, online contracts, and communication make it easy for us and our couples to limit printing.

Being an eco-friendly venue also permeates how we clean! Legacy Hill Farm uses premium cleaning products that clean and disinfect without harsh chemicals.

We also promote eco-elegance by linking our clients to vendors who know how to promote sustainability in the wedding and event industry. Our couples frequently work with Hello Wildflower to rent decor and to get florals for their weddings and events that limit waste and maximize sustainability.

We often see our couples select bio-degradable plating options and utilize compostable trash liners to further the eco-friendliness of their wedding too.

And the list goes on… so long, in fact, that we’re going to have to dive into more of our eco-friendly practices in another blog.

As a venue that loves nature and the preservation of it - we love helping people throw grand and unforgettable events that are also eco-friendly and grounded in sustainability.

If you love the idea of hosting an eco-friendly wedding or event we would love to invite you to tour Legacy Hill Farm to learn more.

Cheers to taking care of guests and the planet, one event at a time.

With You, For You.
